Aprima Announces Another Milestone, Now Welcoming Over 1,500 Former Customers of Allscripts MyWay(TM)
Over 1,500 former customers of Allscripts MyWay(TM) have now chosen to upgrade to Aprima; over 1,300 already up and running
DALLAS, Feb. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Aprima Medical Software announced last July that over 1,000 former customers of Allscripts MyWay(TM) have chosen to upgrade to Aprima. As of today, that number has jumped to over 1,500 and is still growing. Of those, over 1,300 providers are already live on the system.
Practices all over the country that are former customers of Allscripts MyWay(TM) have chosen the Aprima EHR (electronic health record) and PM (practice management) solution as their upgrade path as opposed to facing potentially difficult, time consuming and costly conversions to other systems. Since October 2012, when Allscripts announced that it would not develop or update the Allscripts MyWay(TM) product to be in compliance with government incentives and requirements such as Meaningful Use and ICD-10, providers have sought out Aprima or Aprima resellers as the best and obvious choice for their practice.
Rather than migrate to Allscripts Pro(TM) – which requires a change in systems, plus a potentially arduous data conversion and retraining period, potentially creating mental, physical and financial disruption to the practice – these providers are taking advantage of the Aprima Rescue Plan(TM) for customers of Allscripts MyWay(TM). Since the announcement by Allscripts, Aprima has exceeded the 1,500 provider milestone, with the potential for significantly more providers to choose Aprima in the coming months. Not only have practices chosen Aprima, but dozens of resellers of the Allscripts MyWay(TM) product have also chosen to make the move to Aprima, as the demand for the Aprima solution grows from their customers.
Practices who have already taken advantage of the Aprima Rescue Plan(TM) are eager to recommend Aprima to peers who are still on the fence about whether or not to migrate to Allscripts Pro(TM) or another EHR vastly different from Allscripts MyWay(TM). Some of our new customers have told us they were concerned that they would lose their financial and other data if they converted to Allscripts Pro(TM). For customers of Allscripts MyWay(TM) who have upgraded to Aprima, this has consistently proven to be a non-issue.
“We knew there was a long list of items that would not migrate from Allscripts MyWay(TM) to Allscripts Pro(TM), so we wanted an understanding of how well Aprima would convert our data. We were promised everything would make the transition over,” recalled Joyce McClung, office manager at Summersville Pediatrics and customer of Aprima Gold Certified Reseller, ConXit Technology Group. The promise was kept. “Everything is here – our vitals, labs, insurance claims status – nothing is missing,” said McClung. “I know that wouldn’t be the case if we’d changed to Allscripts Pro(TM), a completely different system.” Our physicians love how easy it is to pull up images in Aprima – which are a lot clearer than they were in Allscripts MyWay(TM).”
“Aprima is very pleased to recognize this important milestone of upgrading 1,500 former customers of Allscripts MyWay(TM), with many, many more expected in the weeks and months ahead,” stated Michael Nissenbaum, president of Aprima. “We are even more pleased that these new customers continue to remark that the entire upgrade process was faster – very often just over a long weekend – and easier than they had anticipated. We’re also starting to hear from providers who tried the Allscripts Pro(TM) route and are now re-thinking their choice. Some of the issues they tell us about include delays in their conversion and go-live, realization of how much work is involved and general unhappiness with how different the solution is compared to what they had with Allscripts MyWay(TM) and will have with Aprima.”
The Aprima Rescue Plan(TM) circumvents the need to switch to another Allscripts EMR product and offers customers the following advantages:
-- Free Aprima licenses for each Allscripts MyWay(TM) license - no need to repurchase software; up to an $8,500 savings per provider -- Similar look and feel; Aprima has made nearly 1,000 enhancements since it licensed the original source code to Allscripts in 2008, including hundreds of substantive improvements to the PM system -- Minimal learning curve, since it is only needed for the new features -- Minimal downtime compared to what is typical when changing systems and having to re-learn many new workflows -- Existing data remains intact; this is a proven product upgrade, not a conversion -- U.S.-based support
