StopColonCancerNow.com Celebrates March Gladness; Teams Up With The V Foundation for Cancer Research

March 26, 2014

Colon Cancer Awareness Campaign to donate $5 for every story submitted

NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — For basketball fans, it’s tournament time, but for StopColonCancerNow.com, it’s March Gladness – an opportunity to raise money and awareness for colon cancer prevention and research. StopColonCancerNow.com will donate $5 to The V Foundation for Cancer Research for every colon cancer testimonial submitted to its website through the end of the year.

StopColonCancerNow.com is seeking personal stories from colon cancer survivors, family members and individuals who have had a colonoscopy and can recommend the procedure for others who may be at risk. Stories should be submitted online at www.coloncancerstories.com.

“People may not always listen to their doctor about getting a colonoscopy, but we hope they will listen to patients who have been impacted by this disease or those who know that the procedure is very tolerable,” StopColonCancerNow.com Medical Director, Dr. John Popp said. “The V Foundation’s mission of saving lives through research complements our goal of preventing colon cancer by getting more patients screened – more screening and continued research will help us to stop colon cancer.”

Together with ESPN, famed college basketball coach Jim Valvano formed the foundation in 1993 before losing his own battle with cancer. To date, The V Foundation has funded $2.95 million in colon cancer research.

“StopColonCancerNow.com and March Gladness provide a great way for people to help prevent colon cancers,” said Susan Braun, CEO of The V Foundation. “The personal stories remind us of the importance of this program.”

Whether a story of survival, a story in honor of someone who has battled this disease, or a first person account of a colonoscopy, it really can make a difference. Visit www.coloncancerstories.com today and tell your story.
