Miromar Outlets Holds Tornado Relief Fundraiser

April 30, 2014

Drive-Through Donation Drop-Off This Thursday and Friday

Estero, FL (PRWEB) April 30, 2014

Miromar Outlets in Estero is teaming up with the America Red Cross and local media outlets for a “drive-through” fundraiser to collect relief funds for victims of the devastating spring tornadoes across the United States. The 2-day fundraising event will be held at Miromar Outlets Thursday, May 1 and Friday, May 2 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.

Volunteers from the Lee County Chapter of the American Red Cross will be stationed near the Reebok Outlet Store collecting monetary donations as vehicles pull-up to the site at Miromar Outlets. Miromar Outlets invites our local media partners to participate by helping to promote this event. The Chico's brand has generously joined the effort and will be providing gifts cards for tornado victims, which will be distributed through the Red Cross to those in need in the affected areas.

“This drive-through fundraiser offers an easy way for people to donate to an incredibly worthy cause,” said Jeff Staner, Vice President of Miromar Outlets. “It also allows volunteers the opportunity to give a personal thank you to everyone who is helping with disaster relief.”

The fundraiser location allows drivers quick access to Miromar Outlets on the way to work, school, while running errands or out shopping. Donations of cash and checks will be accepted at the drop-off. Checks should be made payable to the American Red Cross with “Spring Tornado Fund” in the memo line.

The dangerous storm system that spawned a chain of deadly tornadoes over three days killed at least 28 people and destroyed homes and businesses in more than half a dozen states. “It’s heart wrenching to see the destruction this storm has caused and that so many people have lost everything,” said Richard Reed, senior vice president, Disaster Cycle Services for the Red Cross, who is in Arkansas. “Red Cross workers are here now, providing shelter, food and comfort, and we’ll be here for weeks to help people as they begin to recover.”

The fundraiser drop-off location is near the Reebok Outlet, on the Corkscrew Road side of Miromar Outlets. Signs will be posted directing motorists to the fundraising location. Miromar Outlets is located at exit 123 off I-75, on Miromar Outlets Boulevard in Estero, between Naples and Fort Myers, across from Miromar Design Center. Store hours are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. http://www.MiromarOutlets.com. Call the Mall Office for more information at (239) 948-3766.
