Centerlight Health System’s Randolf Palmaira Earns National Recognition for Outstanding Nursing Home Leadership
Randolf Palmaira, Executive Director and Administrator of the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, won a facility leadership award by the American College of Health Care Administrators, a national professional association for long-term-care facility administrators.

Randolf Palmaira, Executive Director and Administrator, Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, a member of CenterLight Health System, has been honored with the 2014 Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award by the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA).
Presented at the ACHCA’s 48th Annual Convocation and Exposition on April 6 in Las Vegas, the award recognizes that “facility excellence is a reflection of leadership excellence” and acknowledges the administrator of record who provided that leadership throughout the award year.
“This award acknowledges the talents and hard work of all of CNR’s staff and I am pleased to share this with them,” said Palmaira. “Each day, we work together to carry out our mission of providing the highest quality care to our patients.”
Palmaira and his teams have been recognized with numerous professional awards and accolades. These include: The 2011 Best Long Term Care team featured in Long Term Care Management Magazine; Winner – the 2012 AMDA Quality Improvement and Health Outcomes Awards on Resident Safety; Winner – 2013 Leading Age Innovation Award; Winner – the 2014 AMDA Quality Improvement and Health Outcomes Awards – Reduction in Hospital Re-admission.
A pioneer in Virtual Rehabilitation (Interactive Rehabilitation Exercise System), Palmaira spearheaded the first such program in New York City. It was featured on the national syndicated show The Doctors and ABC news Channel 7, Univision Channel 41 and Channel News 12 for its innovative treatment approach for neurologic and orthopedic rehabilitation. A sought-after industry speaker, he has been published in Orthopedics Today, My Care Givers magazine and Physical Therapy News Line.
Eligibility for the Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award is based on three years of skilled nursing facility (SNF) survey data, including the Health, Fire (Life Safety), Complaint Surveys, as well as top quartile performance on designated Quality Measures. The criteria also included an 80% or greater facility occupancy and a three year avoidance of a Special Focus Facility status. The award was created in memory of Eli Pick who was a consummate member of ACHCA, dedicated to advancing professionalism and leadership in long term care.
