SOUP: The ladies auxiliary of the Highville Fire Company, 3079 River Road, Conestoga, will hold its annual take-out chicken corn soup and bake sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.

Cost is $3.75 per quart. Bring your own containers.

NYC: The Conestoga Valley Community Center, 333 W. Main St., Leola, will host a do-as-you-please bus trip to New York City on Saturday, Oct. 27.

The bus will leave the center at 6:30 a.m. and return about 10 p.m.

Cost is $45 per person. For more information or to register, call 656-2822.

GHOST WALK: The Lancaster Historical Walking Tour will host a ghost walk from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Lancaster Cemetery, off of Lemon Street.

Tours will be taken every 15 minutes and will include Maj. Gen. Lafayette and other significant ghosts from the battle of Brandywine.

Cost is $3 for adults, free for children under 12. Cookies and cider will be served. No reservations are required.

PIANO: Friendship Community will host pianist Ken Medema in concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road.

Born blind, Medema will interact with the audience sharing songs and stories.

Tickets, available at the door, cost $5.

ORGAN: John Ourensma, master voicer/recitalist from Dobson Pike Organ Builders, will present a concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 750 Greenfield Road.

The program will include Bach’s Toccata & Fugue in D minor.

An Octoberfest reception will follow. There concert is free, but a free-will offering will be taken.

HUNTERS: Ephrata Community Hospital will host a “Hunter’s Health Check” event from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Cocalico Center for Health, 63 W. Church St., Stevens.

The free event will provide health screenings, outdoor information and more for hunters and their families. Free screenings will include lung function, EKG, body mass index, vision and hearing, and blood glucose screening.

Outdoor outfitter Cabelas will be on hand with demonstrations on cast-iron cooking, turkey frying, gun cleaning and more. The first 100 participants will receive a free Cabela’s cap.

WGAL’s Jack Hubley of Wild Moments will present “Birds of Prey” at 1 p.m. Dan Lynch of the state Game Commission will offer tips on tree stand safety and regulations at 2 p.m.

There also will be nature activities for kids, a presentation on healthy hunting, refreshments, giveaways and prize drawings.
