Metabolic Research's Stemulite(TM) Study Produces Better Than Expected Results
Posted on: Friday, 26 October 2007, 09:00 CDT
Metabolic Research, Inc. (OTCBB: MTBR) announced results from a Quality of Life Study (QOL) of 10 men using Stemulite(TM) in their daily diet coupled with regular exercise and/or fitness training. During the study Professional Trainer, Paul Simpson measured QOL parameters such as dietary changes, sleep, exercise recovery, (muscle soreness/recovery) energy, and libido. Weight gain/loss and body fat gain/loss were measured at the beginning and at the end of the study. Simpson reported that with no change in dietary routine, 10 out of the 10 subjects lost from 0.7 to 5 pounds weight with the average loss being 3 pounds. 10 out of the 10 subjects lost an average of 3% body fat ranging from 4.9% to 0.7%, commenting, "These results are quite remarkable as most of the subjects were good shape already, having trained with me from 6 weeks to 3 years." The study was also carried out to establish the proper protocol for a larger double blind study to commence in the next quarter.
At completion of the study the men were asked a series of questions regarding QOL and 9 out of 10 reported dramatic improvement in sleep. Increased energy was reported by 8 out of 10 with accelerated exercise recovery from workout being a unanimous. Increased libido, mood elevation and a general feeling of more vitality was reported. Lean muscle definition was also reported. Those subjects who self-measured their strength increase rated it from 10 to 25% increase over the 30 day period.
Metabolic Research CEO Dr. David P. Summers stated, "Although this study centered on dose-ranging and safety, we were quite pleased that we demonstrated efficacy in weight loss and loss of body fat. We did not expect to see such dramatically improved sleep as an effect of Stemulite."
The Company plans to seek collaboration with the University of South Florida in carrying out the measurement of strength and endurance in its upcoming double blind study.
