Upcoming Fashion Events Focus on Cancer Causes

Oct. 28–Fashion offers a stylish way to highlight a cause.

Upcoming area events prove as much as they use clothing to focus on breast cancer research and cancer patients.

Here’s the run-down:

–Fit for the Cure. Get fitted for a bra, sign up for a monthly self-breast-exam reminder and help find a cure for cancer. For every woman fitted in a Wacoal, DKNY Underwear or Donna Karan Intimates bra by a Wacoal fit specialist at an area Dillard’s, the bra maker will donate $2 to breast cancer research. Wacoal also will donate $2 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure research and outreach programs for every aforementioned bra bought during the events.

Fittings will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Southpark, 324 Southpark Circle in Colonial Heights; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Chesterfield Towne Center, 11500 Midlothian Turnpike; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Virginia Center Commons, 10101 Brook Road; 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Stony Point Fashion Park, 9208 Stony Point Parkway; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Short Pump Town Center, 11824 W. –Runway for Recovery. The second annual fashion show featuring cancer survivors will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday at Franco’s Fine Clothier, 5321 Lakeside Ave. Former Green Bay Packer William Henderson and others also will model. The event is a fundraiser for ?$ Which Dollar Inc. The nonprofit organization provides financial assistance to area cancer patients and their families.
