BroadVision, Inc., (OTCBB:BVSN) a global provider of e-business solutions, announced today that The Methodist Hospital in Houston, after a review of available web portal solutions, has renewed its commitment to BroadVision by upgrading to BroadVision Portal Agility Suite version 8.0. The hospital went live on the new BroadVision platform on June 21.

Moving to version 8.0 streamlines operations for The Methodist Hospital and enhances site scalability to accommodate more users. The solution’s consolidated management center with a single dashboard that manages all applications simplifies administration and training. The open, standards-based technology stack reduces costs. And the Content Management application enables content developers to easily publish news and health information to the site without requiring help from IT professionals.

The Methodist Hospital is the one of the first U.S.-based BroadVision customers to migrate to version 8.0. The migration took only eight weeks–exceptionally fast for an enterprise to upgrade a complex, content-rich website to a new web portal. Using BroadVision’s proven migration methodology, two Methodist IT professionals and one system architect from BroadVision were all the staffing resources necessary to complete the rapid migration.

“Following BroadVision’s migration strategy made this a rapid, seamless upgrade,” said Diane Drabek, Web Applications Manager at The Methodist Hospital. “This will give our content providers much greater control and will improve our ability to deliver the most up-to-date and relevant content to our audiences.”

“We are pleased that The Methodist Hospital, one of the nation’s largest and most respected general hospitals, has renewed its commitment to BroadVision and selected our innovative Business Agility Suite as its web platform,” said Neil Pisane, General Manager of the Americas, BroadVision, Inc. “Retaining such industry-leading customers as The Methodist Hospital validates our strategic approach to offering an entire technology stack that delivers superior flexibility, scalability and control to customers.”
