Kaiser Permanente Colorado to Offer Its Employees Cash Incentives Through the incentaHEALTH Weight Loss and Wellness Program for the 5th Year

incentaHEALTH announced that health care giant Kaiser Permanente Colorado is offering its employees incentaHEALTH's weight loss and wellness program for the fifth consecutive year.
incentaHEALTH's patent-pending program is designed to help participating employees lose weight and develop healthy lifestyle habits. The employees earn cash incentives of $5 to $50 per month for their successful weight loss performance.
incentaHEALTH is a completely outsourced, turn-key program. "All an employer needs to supply is a location where employees can privately weigh themselves on our Internet-enabled scale, which we call the HEALTHspot," said Todd McGuire, COO/CTO of incentaHEALTH. "The employees' results are sent directly to our data center and are never shared with the employer, preserving employee privacy and minimizing the administrative burden on the employer."
Timothy Woodworth, Medical Office Administrator for Kaiser Permanente Colorado's Baseline Medical Office, said, "We are faced with an obesity crisis in the United States, and the incentaHEALTH weight loss program will be aimed directly at our health care employees. I believe that we have a responsibility as health care providers to role model healthy behavior and to provide encouragement and support to our patients to lose weight. A comprehensive weight loss program is the best way to reward and recognize our staff and physicians for their continued dedication to patient care."
In daily personalized emails, incentaHEALTH's fitness advisors recommend lifestyle changes that participants can maintain for the rest of their lives. "Having access to someone who can guide you through the ups and downs of weight loss is a key part of this program," says Courtney Lake, Fitness Advisor for incentaHEALTH. Participants can chat by phone or by email with their advisors and chart their success through online access to their own private progress reports.
Kaiser Permanente Colorado participants who lost weight during years 1-4 of the program were able to lose an average of 18 pounds. "That's a terrific result," said incentaHEALTH's CEO, Jack Rule.
