Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, a provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions, has announced that several mid-size physician groups have selected its web-hosted version of electronic health record and practice management software.
Allscripts will remotely provide a means of delivering vital patient information to caregivers, anytime and anywhere, without the need to purchase servers or hire new IT personnel. To provide this service, Allscripts works closely with Tellurian Networks and other hosted service providers to deliver the company's integrated electronic health record and practice management (EHR-PM) solution remotely.
The electronic health record functionality of the integrated Allscripts solution will automate everyday clinical tasks such as prescribing and refilling medications, ordering and reviewing tests and documenting patient care. Allscripts practice management functionality will combine scheduling and financial management tools in a single package. The combined solution will enable the clinical and business sides of a practice to work hand-in-hand for greater efficiency and improved quality of care at lower cost.
Among physician groups across the country, Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Brown Hills, New Jersey; HealthFirst Physicians of Arkansas, in Hot Springs, Arkansas; and The Heart Center in Poughkeepsie, New York have all chosen the Allscripts ASP option to add or extend services to their physician and provider groups.
Glen Tullman, CEO of Allscripts, said: "Allscripts and Tellurian believe that many physician practice groups want to focus their time, effort and money on caring for patients, not managing technology. By combining our proven leadership in the electronic health record and practice management market, together with the power of Tellurian's ASP hosting model, we're making it easier for mid-sized physician practices to enter the electronic healthcare highway."
