ViaWest Services to Support Unprecedented Project in Oregon
ViaWest, a leading provider of adaptable colocation and managed hosting solutions, today announced that Cascade Healthcare Community (CHC) has employed ViaWest’s colocation and managed services to support its new initiative, HealthSync, which will integrate the flow of patient information and IT services in Central Oregon hospitals. The addition of CHC’s 700 sq. ft. space to ViaWest’s growing portfolio of customers increases the company’s footprint in Oregon.
The HealthSync project will improve patient safety and care throughout Central Oregon by establishing an interconnected system that will streamline processes and contain all necessary health information in one place. The initiative will automate processes involving patient registration, billing, human resources, general accounting, lab, pharmacy, radiology, nurse/physician orders and documentation and surgical services. Since CHC’s internal data center could not support a project of this scale and magnitude, and to minimize costs, the company chose to deploy the HealthSync infrastructure in a ViaWest datacenter.
“We selected ViaWest over others in the region based on its ability to implement our services within an aggressive time frame and their reputation as a secure, first-class data center in Oregon,” said Marilynn Black, senior vice president of information services for CHC. “After working with ViaWest for the past several months, we are extremely happy with the results we are seeing and with their flexibility, responsiveness and attentiveness to our needs.”
CHC is migrating its current paper and technology systems to ViaWest to leverage the company’s expertise in application availability and data security. In addition to dedicated services and increased bandwidth, CHC receives a dedicated engineering team that provides proactive troubleshooting and support.
“CHC is storing hospital patients’ data so it is critical that it have a secure environment to house this information, as well as the assurance of having a strong technical team to manage its IT resources,” said Roy Dimoff, CEO, ViaWest. “ViaWest is pleased to have CHC as a customer and for the opportunity to partner with them to support the HealthSync initiative.”
