Community Health Systems, Inc. Announces the Disposition of Jonesboro, Arkansas Facility

Community Health Systems, Inc. (NYSE: CYH) today announced the disposition by a subsidiary of its 60 percent interest in NEA (Northeast Arkansas) Medical Center, a 104-bed acute care hospital located in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to Baptist Memorial Health Care, headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. The transaction also included real estate and other assets, and was effective on October 31, 2007.
Located in the Nashville, Tennessee, suburb of Franklin, Community Health Systems, Inc. is the largest publicly-traded hospital company in the United States and a leading operator of general acute care hospitals in non-urban and mid-size markets throughout the country.
