Beaumont Taps 3 for Hospital: Facility Added in Grosse Pointe

Nov. 1–Beaumont Hospitals named three people Wednesday to run its newly purchased Grosse Pointe hospital.

The Royal Oak-based Beaumont system bought the 289-bed hospital Oct. 1, renaming it Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe. It will be led by:

–Richard Swaine, 52, senior vice president and hospital director.

Swaine of Livonia is a 22-year Beaumont employee who most recently was vice president of finance for Beaumont’s Royal Oak hospital. He also had been vice president, finance, at Beaumont’s Troy hospital. He is a certified public accountant with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lawrence Technological University and a master’s degree in finance from Walsh College.

–Dr. Donna Hoban, senior vice president and director of medical services.

Hoban is a board-certified physician specializing in family medicine. She also has held faculty positions in the hospital’s residency programs in family practice and internal medicine. Hoban, 54, of Grosse Pointe Farms attended Michigan State University and is a graduate of the Wayne State University School of Medicine.

–Dr. Larry Lloyd, senior vice president and director of surgical services.

A board-certified surgeon, Lloyd, 59, of Grosse Pointe was chief of surgery at St. John Hospital and Medical Center since 1991. He is a clinical associate professor of surgery at the WSU medical school, where he received his undergraduate, master’s and medical degrees.

Lloyd’s appointment is effective Jan. 7; the other two take effect Jan. 1.
