Ariba Helps Spend Management Professionals `Lunch and Learn'
Posted on: Monday, 5 November 2007, 09:00 CST
With global supply market dynamics in a constant state of rapid change, it is imperative but increasingly difficult for today's spend management professionals to stay current on the most critical issues of the day and respond to them. That's why Ariba, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARBA), the leading spend management solutions provider, is launching a new Lunch Box Webinar Series designed to help even the busiest spend management professionals arm themselves with the insights and guidance they need to keep pace with the latest global market trends.
"Today's spend management professionals are so focused on executing programs to meet corporate savings objectives that it can be a real challenge to stay in tune with day-to-day supply market dynamics," said Christine Crandell, Vice President, Marketing, Ariba. "Through Ariba's new Lunch Box Webinar Series, an innovative just-in-time knowledge program designed to share and discuss key market developments, professionals can quickly understand the potential impact of events and trends and learn ways in which they can respond to them to effectively mitigate their risk and deliver results."
Timed for when most professionals try to squeeze in lunch, Ariba Lunch Box Series webcasts will be broadcast at noon in the Eastern, Central and Pacific time zones. Each webcast will spotlight a timely issue impacting spend management and offer specialized information and guidance from Ariba's team of category specialists, Ariba's customers and other industry leaders around the globe.
Webcast registrants will receive a 20-minute overview of the issue at hand before taking part in a 10-minute Q&A session designed to provide answers to the most pressing and commonly asked questions. For those who cannot make the noon broadcasts, sessions will be archived and can be accessed at www.ariba.com or downloaded as podcasts for convenient replay on portable devices.
"At Ariba, we're committed to sharing our knowledge and resources in a way that helps organizations better understand an increasingly complicated global marketplace," Crandell added. "Through our Lunch Box Webinar Series, companies of all types and sizes can tap our expertise and ensure their spend management strategies are in firm alignment with real-world market conditions as they continue to evolve."
2007 Lunch Box Webcast Broadcast Schedule:
The Ariba Lunch Box Series kicks off Wednesday, November 7 and will continue with several webinars each month. Among the initial topics to be addressed:
November 7: Recalls and Supply Chain Management
The recent rash of recalls and safety concerns on products ranging from pet food to toys has brought unwanted publicity to global manufacturers and called into question the overall strategy of sourcing in low-cost regions. In this session, Ariba's Category Management team will explain their thoughts that these recent issues are not a China problem or a toy-industry problem, but a supply chain management problem that can be averted by following some documented best practices.
November 28: Launching a Green Sourcing Initiative
Green Sourcing and Environmental Sustainability are increasingly high on the CEO's priority list. Are you prepared to support the CEO Green mandate? How do you balance Green with the continuing drive to reduce costs and serve customers? In this Lunch Box Webcast, we will cover the top 10 areas where sourcing professionals can begin going Green now.
December 12: The Importance of Change Management
What are your biggest obstacles to a successful implementation? In fact, once the system is "turned on", how do you know if it is successful or not? More often than not, it's the people issues that weigh down your progress, cause lengthy delays and overrun budgets. Hear Ariba share its approach on when and how to plan, deliver and measure a change management program to ensure that your end users are able and motivated to adopt your new processes and systems, leading to your program success.
