Humana to Administer Health Benefits for HealthONE Employees and Dependents
Posted on: Tuesday, 6 November 2007, 09:07 CST
Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) announced today that it will administer health benefits for HCA-HealthONE LLC, which has more than 8,500 employees in the greater Denver area. The agreement will go into effect January 1, 2008.
HealthONE is metro Denver's largest provider of health care services, with seven hospitals; 13 ambulatory surgery centers; more than 30 occupational medicine/rehabilitation, Broncos Sports Medicine, specialty, and outpatient diagnostic imaging clinics; and AIRLIFE, which provides critical care air and ground transportation.
"Humana is honored and excited that HealthONE has selected our company to administer health benefits for so many of its Denver employees and their dependents," said Leslie Andrews, market president of Humana of Colorado. "Humana's recently launched HMO product gives our members greater choice in their health care decisions, and our partnership with HealthONE adds even more strength to our HMO network."
Starting in 2008, Humana will administer a HMO plan for HealthONE employees and dependents. As part of its health benefits plan, HealthONE employees and dependents will have access to a wide array of health services including personal nurse services, comprehensive disease management programs, Humana Beginnings, a wellness program designed to help expectant mothers during their pregnancy, and wellness programs through Humana subsidiary Corphealth including health coaching, integrated medical-behavioral health care management and an employee assistance/work-life program.
"The most important considerations our employees request in their health plans are a robust physician network, affordable rates and excellent customer service," says Roger Smith, HealthONE and HCA Continental Division Vice President for Human Resources. "Humana offers all three."
In addition to covering HealthONE's employees and dependents, HealthONE's facilities will also form the nucleus of Humana's new Select HMO network in Denver. The Select HMO network, including the HealthONE facilities, will also be available to other employer groups as part of a Humana health plan.
