HealthAware's Cardiovascular Disease Program to Be Available Through Catholic Health Initiatives' 73 Hospitals

Posted on: Tuesday, 6 November 2007, 12:00 CST

DENVER, Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- HealthAware announced today an agreement with Catholic Health Initiatives to make its Cardiovascular disease program available to the 73 hospitals across 19 states in Catholic Health Initiatives' health system.

This agreement makes HealthAware's Cardiovascular program available to persons throughout the U.S., and furthers HealthAware's goal of promoting early detection and prevention of disease.

An estimated 79 million Americans have heart disease and don't even know it. Half of those who die of heart attacks have no previous symptoms. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the U.S., and is responsible for every one in three deaths.

Greg Gossett, President of HealthAware, believes the Company's alliance with Catholic Health Initiatives can benefit countless men and women. "Led by our HeartAware module, our Cardiovascular disease program has helped several hospitals change their focus from heart disease treatment to heart disease prevention. We believe this will be the case with Catholic Health Initiatives as well."

Mr. Gossett goes on to say, "Our Cardiovascular disease program can improve the health and wellness of patients and help save lives."

Donell Martinez, Catholic Health Initiatives' Director of Marketing Communications said, "HealthAware's Cardiovascular program can be instrumental in creating healthier communities because it promotes early detection and prevention of heart disease. Ultimately, we anticipate lives may be saved through this program, as it is designed to attract the person who is likely to have some degree of heart disease but it not yet experiencing symptoms."

Anchored by its Cardiovascular disease program, HealthAware's innovative suite of early detection modules is proven to inspire at-risk, pre-first episodic patients to visit hospital web sites to use the Company's online risk assessment programs. This leads directly to patient benefits of earlier detection and treatment and allows hospitals the chance to build relationships with new patients.
