ValueOptions Names Edward R. Jones, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of National and Health Plan Accounts

ValueOptions, the nation's largest independent behavioral health company, announced today that it has named Edward R. Jones, Ph.D., to the position of Senior Vice President of National and Health Plan Accounts.

"His knowledge of our industry and experience overseeing national service centers, sales, account management and working with consultants will be an enormous asset to our team."
In his role, Jones will oversee ValueOptions' commercial business units, direct all commercial service centers operations, account management for existing employer and health plan clients, as well as commercial sales and business development activities.
Jones brings more than 25 years of experience in behavioral health care, including nine years with PacifiCare Behavioral Health (PBH) in Van Nuys, Calif. As Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer for PBH, he was the senior executive accountable for the performance of all PBH care management centers, including utilization management, clinical quality, customer service, administrative efficiency and compliance with NCQA and state regulatory standards. Additionally, he was the clinical executive responsible for the growth of employer and health plan accounts nationally.
Before joining PacifiCare, Jones was the Co-Owner and Co-Director of the Center for Behavioral Healthcare in Los Angeles, a multidisciplinary group practice with three main clinic sites and a wraparound network offering a full continuum of services for adults, adolescents and children.
Jones also spent 10 years in private practice in Los Angeles, providing cognitive behavioral therapy, chemical dependency treatment, adolescent treatment and psychological assessment.
Jones is a featured speaker at many national and state conferences on behavioral health. Often his topics focus on outcomes management, an area in which he has authored several articles. He has given a number of presentations on methods for improving the detection and treatment of suicidal patients and those with substance abuse problems.
Currently a member of the editorial board of Behavioral Healthcare magazine, Jones holds a BA from Cornell University and Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern University.
Jones will be based in Cypress, Calif., in the offices of ValueOptions of California.
