Inflatable BodyWedge 21 Introduces A 'New Angle In Fitness' And Provides A Portable Fitness Center Everywhere You Go

Posted on: Monday, 27 December 2004, 09:00 CST

NEW YORK, Dec. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The new BodyWedge 21 offers consumers a "New Angle in Fitness" by providing a safe, fun, and rewarding way to get into shape or stay fit at home, at work or on-the road. Simply put, the BodyWedge 21 is an exercise "wedge" which offers literally hundreds of exercises for strength and muscle building, aerobics, Pilates, Yoga and other fitness programs. The BodyWedge 21 was originally designed by fitness expert Richard Decker to aid in his recovery and rehabilitation from rotator cuff surgery. The exercise ball didn't provide enough stability, especially around the shoulder area, so he created a special exercise wedge to gain the support he needed.

The "original" BodyWedge 21, a foam wedge surrounded by a silkscreen protective cover with clear icons of 21 body exercises, is now used in numerous fitness centers for group exercise classes and by personal trainers. The new, inflatable version of the BodyWedge 21 is the perfect exercise tool for consumers, business executives and frequent travelers who want to maintain a high level of fitness and exercise anytime or anywhere. The inflatable unit comes complete with an easy-to-use pump for quick inflation and deflation of the BodyWedge 21, an exercise DVD for fitness tips and exercises and a 21- exercise, full-body workout poster. The BodyWedge 21 inflatable exercise tool will sell for approximately $19.95 nationwide beginning in January.

"As a Certified Personal Trainer, I understand what tools I needed to safely begin my rehabilitation from shoulder surgery," said Richard Decker. "Of all the benefits the BodyWedge 21 provides to its users, versatility is probably its most valuable asset. It can be used in place of, or in conjunction with, the exercise ball, incline bench, decline bench, or Step & Bosu," Mr. Decker continued. "I developed the inflatable version for consumers who can't get to the gym because of their busy lifestyle or can't afford to join a full-service fitness center. Now they can take their personal fitness center everywhere they go," Decker added.

The BodyWedge 21 was designed to keep exercise simple, fun and rewarding. The unit's versatility allows users to work their abs, buttocks, thighs, arms, chest and lower back in as little as 21 minutes. The BodyWedge 21 can be used by itself, using your own body weight and strength for resistance, or can be used in conjunction with free weights and exercise bands for a more intense workout. By using the BodyWedge 21 as part of an overall exercise routine, users can expect to increase their strength, balance and flexibility and with its endorsement by fitness experts and certified trainers nationwide, consumers can use it with confidence.

The BodyWedge 21 inflatable exercise wedge will be available nationwide at Wal-Mart, CVS Drugs, Duane Reade and Target.com beginning in January with a retail price of approximately $19.95.
