Dealing With Prostate Cancer

December 29, 2004

Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin says that men with early prostate cancer must be fully involved in making decisions about their treatment. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, but there is a lack of clear evidence on the best way to treat it.

Some men with less aggressive forms may be better to avoid any radical treatment (such as removal or the prostate or radiotherapy), because this may not increase their survival and may cause a range of severe side-effects. Copyright Association for Consumers Research Nov/Dec 2004
