MEDecision, Inc. (Nasdaq:MEDE), a provider of collaborative care management software, services and clinical content to health care payers, has received the 2007 Best Employers for Working Parents Award from the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children (DVAEYC). The distinction is given annually to two area companies for recognizing the importance of work/life benefits to the health of their business, employees and employees' families.
MEDecision received the award in the mid-sized employer category. Holy Redeemer Health System, based in Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania, took the honor in the large employer category. DVAEYC recognized the two organizations for their combination of flexible work arrangements -- such as flex-time, part-time and compressed work weeks -- dependent care assistance plans and other such offerings.
"We place a high value on our employees, and are committed to them and their families," said Susan Vitiello, MEDecision's human resources director. "This award means a great deal to us because it affirms that the family-friendly culture we've worked to establish is both successful and appreciated."
"MEDecision's innovation and flexibility are a true testament to the value they place on their employees and their families," said DVAEYC Executive Director Reverend Sharon Easterling. "Along with Holy Redeemer, they represent the standard to which all Delaware Valley employers should aspire. Each was selected from a highly competitive field of organizations that support working parents. We hope the award provides inspiration for emulation on the part of other employers in Southeastern Pennsylvania."
