Two couples whose newborns were accidentally mixed up in a Czech Republic hospital nearly a year ago, have their own babies back.

The baby girls, born within 18 minutes Dec. 9 in a Trebic hospital at Brno in the southeastern part of the country, were returned to their biological parents, Prague Radio said Monday.

The couples had suspected something was wrong, but it took DNA tests to determine that the girls had been switched by the hospital staff.

Social service workers have helped the two couples deal with the emotional problems caused by the mistake, the radio said.
