Humana Extends Agreements With LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics
Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) announced today that it has signed multi-year agreements with Laboratory Corporation of AmericaÃ‚® Holdings (NYSE: LH) and Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX), extending current contracts that provide laboratory and testing services for Humana members. The agreements are effective Jan. 1, 2008. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
“These agreements continue to solidify Humana’s national presence in providing valued health care benefits to our members in all 50 states,” said Bruce Perkins, Humana’s senior vice president for national contracting. “The more than 480,000 physicians in our national network of providers recognize both LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics as leading providers of laboratory and testing services. With these new agreements, our members and their physicians will have a choice of their preferred lab testing facilities.”
