Cornerstone BioPharma, Inc. Acquires EXTENDRYL Family of Products From FLEMING & COMPANY, Pharmaceuticals

CARY, N.C., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cornerstone BioPharma, Inc. announces the acquisition of the EXTENDRYL family of products from FLEMING & COMPANY, Pharmaceuticals, which occurred January 1, 2005.
EXTENDRYL SR, EXTENDRYL JR, EXTENDRYL CHEWABLE and EXTENDRYL SYRUP are prescription respiratory medications indicated for the relief of respiratory congestion, allergic rhinitis, and vasomotor rhinitis. Currently, 50 million Americans suffer from allergy symptoms and these symptoms often begin in childhood. These products are available in time-released capsules (in adult and pediatric formulations), chewable tablets, and syrup.
Under the terms of the agreement, Cornerstone BioPharma Inc. acquired from Fleming, the exclusive rights to manufacture and market EXTENDRYL in the United States.
This presents a significant opportunity for Cornerstone BioPharma Inc., as EXTENDRYL will be promoted in January by their national sales force for the US allergy market, which exceeds over $3.3 billion in annual sales.
