Posted on: Monday, 17 December 2007, 09:00 CST

BETHESDA, Md., Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- GetWellNetwork, Inc., a leading provider of Interactive Patient Care (IPC) solutions, today announced the introduction of GetConnected2008, the first annual conference designed exclusively for the GetWellNetwork community. As the industry's only conference focused on IPC solutions and their uses in delivering true patient- centered care, GetConnected2008 will enable leadership and staff members at GetWellNetwork client hospitals to share best practices, discuss the role of technology in shaping the patient experience, get new ideas through hands-on workshops and network with colleagues in the industry.

Following are details for the event: What: GetConnected2008 - GetWellNetwork Users Conference When: April 6-8, 2008 Where: Hilton Washington Embassy Row, Washington, D.C. How: To register or submit a proposal to present, please visit http://www.getwellnetwork.com/conference/.

"Hospitals look to GetWellNetwork for thoughtful leadership on issues such as patient education, patient satisfaction and interactive communication, so I am very much looking forward to the first users conference for GetWellNetwork," said Kay Miller, MS, RN, vice president, chief nursing officer at Medical Center of the Rockies. "Networking and sharing best practices will definitely be a highlight. Our team is excited about getting new ideas that we can implement in our hospital, enabling us to better engage patients in their own care."

Widely acknowledged by analysts and the media as the industry's leading Interactive Patient Care solution, the GetWellNetwork(R) PatientLife System(R) empowers patients and families by placing them at the center of their own care experience. The system turns the television in the patient room into an interactive resource during a hospital stay. By using a wireless keyboard, touch screen or handheld device, patients can interact with the system to access valuable education, communication and entertainment resources directly at the bedside.

"As the first conference of its kind, GetConnected2008 will be a valuable opportunity for industry leaders to share their experiences and perspectives on using IPC technology to empower patients and their families," said Michael O'Neil, Jr., founder and CEO of GetWellNetwork, Inc. "With participants from more than 50 hospitals expected to attend, we look forward to continuing our partnership with each hospital and taking IPC and patient-centered care to a new level."
