OWEN SOUND, Ont. - A teenage mother accused of seriously harming her infant child will appear in court Monday.
The 19-year-old woman from Owen Sound, who cannot be named, will appear at a bail hearing six days after police charged her with aggravated assault.
Inspector Vince Wurfel of the Owen Sound Police has said that the woman was charged after hospital staff at Grey Bruce Health Services noticed suspicious injuries on her two-and-a-half-week-old baby boy.
Officials say the baby was then sent to London Health Sciences Centre, where his condition was initially listed as critical.
The mother is currently in police custody.
