Medecision Launches Health Care Management Application

Posted on: Friday, 28 December 2007, 12:00 CST

US-based Medecision has launched the new version of its collaborative health care management solution.

The company said that it has also agreed to deliver the solution to Louisiana-based Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana (BCBSLA). The company plans to formally launch the new application suite in early 2008.

David Clair, founder and chief executive of Medecision said: "We believe our core care management and health information exchange offerings will be key in helping BCBSLA achieve its goal of better health for all Louisianans."

"By making health care information available to our customers and their providers, we enable them to focus more time and energy on the best and most appropriate care," said Ob Soonthornsima, senior vice president and chief information officer at Blue Cross.

According to Medecision, the solution features a new screen design, automatic workflow, individual-centric approach, embedded clinical content and web services for interoperability.

In August 2007, system integration consultancy Ciber redesigned the hospital patient flow and capacity management applications of Pittsburgh-based TeleTracking Technologies using service-oriented architecture and Microsoft's .NET 2.0 technologies.
