Jan. 1–An area toddler drowned in a swimming pool the day after Christmas near Orlando, Fla., according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Emmanu’el Brown, 3, of Longs was found Dec. 26 in an in-ground swimming pool at a vacation home in northwest Osceola County, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Twis Lizasuain.
Sheriff’s deputies performed CPR, and the boy was rushed by ambulance to Florida Hospital Celebration Health, where he died shortly after, Lizasuain confirmed.
Several family members and relatives were staying at the home, Lizasuain said. Brown’s grandmother called 911 and told police the boy fell into the pool, she said.
Autopsy results aren’t expected for a few weeks, Lizasuain said.
