TORONTO - Two teenagers charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of a 14-year-old girl in Toronto have been remanded into custody pending a Jan. 16 court appearance.
The 17-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, appeared in court Thursday for a bail hearing.
The unidentified girl, the daughter of two Toronto police officers, was stabbed Tuesday evening in the city's east end and later pronounced dead in hospital.
She was found lying on a sidewalk, bleeding profusely from several stab wounds to the stomach.
A makeshift memorial of flowers appeared Wednesday outside the home where the girl lived with her mother, stepfather and three siblings.
