MERSEYSIDE’S arthritis sufferers are being invited to a free information event.

Arthritis affects more than seven million adults and children, but campaigners say it lacks the high public profile of other more life-threatening diseases.

Now medical research charity the Arthritis Research Campaign (arc) is aiming to raise the profile of the condition and will hold a series of information and fundraising events throughout the year to show how the charity is helping patients in Liverpool.

The purpose of the evening is to let people know what arc does in the area.

Appeals manager Ruth Owen said: “Arc’s work in Merseyside is having a profound and very positive impact on the many people who suffer the ongoing pain of arthritis.

“Arc has had an increasing presence in the city with our research work over the past 10 years.”

The event is at Arrowe Park hospital at 7pm on Wednesday, January 30.

Contact Ruth on 01492 518760 or e-mail her on r.owen@arc.org.uk for more.
