BioTime CEO Dr. Michael D. West to Lecture on Regenerative Medicine and Age Related Degenerative Disease

BioTime, Inc. (OTCBB:BTIM) announced today that Dr. Michael D. West will present a lecture entitled “Regenerative Medicine: Applications in Age Related Degenerative Disease” at the GTCbio New Applications For Aging Research Conference at the Hilton Harbor Island Hotel, 1960 Harbor Island Drive, in San Diego, California. Dr. West’s presentation is scheduled to start at 3:40 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2008. Dr. West’s lecture will address how embryonic stem cells may be a source of immune compatible cell therapies for degenerative diseases associated with aging.

Dr. West will also discuss BioTime’s recent entry into the field of regenerative medicine through its wholly owned subsidiary Embryome Sciences, Inc., which plans to develop new medical and research products using embryonic stem cell technology.

Embryome Sciences plans to develop and commercialize a technology platform called Embryomics™, a collection of research tools that can facilitate stem cell research by providing researchers with new products for the identification, scale-up, and purification of the many cell types that emerge from human embryonic stem cells.
