AmeriHealth Mercy Announces New Corporate Chief Medical Officer

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Jay Feldstein, DO, has been promoted to the new position of Corporate Chief Medical Officer for the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies. Dr. Feldstein formerly served as Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer for the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies' Medicaid managed care plans in Pennsylvania, Keystone Mercy Health Plan and AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan. In his new expanded role, Dr. Feldstein will have corporate oversight of all medical management functions, including quality management, medical guidelines, development of medical management products, and medical informatics across the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies.
While serving as Chief Medical Officer for Keystone Mercy and AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plans, Dr. Feldstein's many achievements included developing the PerforMED(SM) care management product, leading to the successful award of a contract for Indiana's Care Select program. He also spearheaded the development and implementation of hospital performance indicators, paving the way for more successful hospital contracting and relationships with the major hospital systems in Philadelphia.
