Orange County's Dr. Vasili Gatsinaris, of Next Level Wellness, Offers Tips on Injury Prevention and Management

Every January the most popular New Year's Resolution is to get fit. Americans try to get active after months or years of being sedentary and often are plagued by nagging injuries returning them to their inactive state.
According to the International Health, Racquet and Sports Club Association, nationwide only 42 Million Americans or 14% belong to a health club or gym. The number of Americans who exercise regularly represents a small fraction of the total population and when they engage in activities unprepared and untrained, then pesky injuries can occur.
Dr. Vasili Gatsinaris is a native of Southern California who graduated with a degree in Biology from the University of California Irvine. He received his doctorate degree from Los Angeles Chiropractic College. Gatsinaris is a certified Active Release Technique (ART) provider, is Active Isolated Stretching certified, and a Fenzian practitioner - one of 40 certified in the United States and one of three in Southern California. Gatsinaris has treated numerous professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS, collegiate athletes and USA Masters Track and Field athletes. Dr. Gatsinaris is the Founder of Next Level Wellness Center (www.nextlevelwellnesscenter.com) in Irvine.
"My advice is twofold. First if you are returning to active exercise after long periods of inactivity, you should work with an expert. You will see quicker results and stay motivated," said Gatsinaris. "You are talking about your body and your physical well being. Working with a trainer like the ones at Next Level Fitness ensures that you get on the right path and increase your chances of avoiding injury," said Gatsinaris. "They will school you in the basics of stretching, warming up and the proper use of weigh training equipment so you avoid those nagging injuries."
"My next piece of advice is to get the right help when you do get injured. The human body is a complex piece of machinery. There are over 600 muscles in the human body. Treatment for a sports related injury is most effective with someone who has sport expertise," says Gatsinaris. "Finding someone who deals in sports injuries is crucial. Even a simple injury can delay your workouts and disrupt your rhythm."
The treatments that Gatsinaris utilizes are extremely effective, and it usually only takes a few visits to address injuries or other problems.
The treatments available at Next Level Wellness Center are truly state of the art and the latest in treatment methods. These include ART, AIS, Fenzian Treatment and Orthotic 3Dimensional Foot/Gait analysis.
Because of his increasing reputation, Gatsinaris has been sought out by many professional athletes. He has treated Corie Blount, a ten-year NBA veteran as well as NBA stars such as Todd MacCulloch, Shavik Randolph and Devean George. He also recently served as the Southern California Striders team physician for the World Masters Championships Track and Field in Riccione, Italy.
