Valeant Pharmaceuticals Completes Divestment of Hep-C Drug Infergen(R) to Three Rivers Pharmaceuticals(R), LLC

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International (NYSE:VRX) announced today that it has completed its divestment of the United States and Canadian rights to the hepatitis C drug Infergen® (interferon alfacon-1) to Three Rivers Pharmaceuticals, LLC. Under the terms of the agreement, Valeant received from Three Rivers an initial payment of approximately $70.8 million in cash and will receive up to $20.5 million in two noncontingent payments over the next eighteen months.
