HealthEd Group Names Kristin Patton As President and Creates New Agency to Support Demand for Patient Education

Posted on: Tuesday, 22 January 2008, 09:00 CST

HealthEd Group, the leader in educational patient marketing, today announced the appointment of Kristin Patton, 37, as president of the company, including its newly created second agency, HealthEd Encore.

Patton will oversee the management of both HealthEd Group agencies, HealthEd and HealthEd Encore, while Roy Broadfoot will continue as CEO of both companies.

"Kristin has demonstrated exceptional leadership during her three years at HealthEd, and throughout her career," said Roy Broadfoot, founder and chief executive officer, HealthEd Group. "She has earned the respect and confidence of her colleagues and the company's clients. I expect that Kristin's outstanding insights into the industry and her commitment to keeping the company focused on our core competencies will ensure our continued growth and ability to meet the business demands of our clients and their customers."

Patton was previously the senior vice-president of Strategic Services with HealthEd, joining the company in 2005. Prior to HealthEd, Patton worked at DVC Worldwide where she planned and implemented integrated marketing programs for a wide range of clients in the healthcare, packaged goods and service industries. Earlier in her career, Patton was assistant director of public relations for Pascack Valley Hospital. She has also worked in account management for Thomas Ferguson Associates, a division of CommonHealth.

HealthEd Group's decision to launch HealthEd Encore, which will operate as a stand-alone agency, is in response to increasing client demand for educational patient marketing campaigns. HealthEd Encore offers a full-range of services, including consumer/patient product education, Web site development, treatment adherence programs and provider/patient dialogue support. Similar to HealthEd, the new agency will maintain an entrepreneurial, collaborative 'small company culture,' with cross-functional teams dedicated to delivering best-in-class service.

"We are proud of HealthEd's record of success in developing effective educational marketing programs for our clients that motivate patients to change how they think and act," said Kristin Patton, president, HealthEd Group. "The founding of HealthEd Encore is an important step in our company's growth, and will enable us to continue offering high levels of service to the industry."

While Patton will head both agencies as president, HealthEd Encore will be led by Anita St. Clair, who has been promoted to managing director. St. Clair was previously senior vice-president and management supervisor at HealthEd responsible for managing key account relationships and overall campaign supervision. She brings more than a decade of agency experience to HealthEd Encore, having worked in multiple account management and strategic planning capacities. Previously, St. Clair was a senior vice-president and management supervisor at CommonHealth, where she produced and managed DTC, Managed Markets and DTP marketing communication initiatives for leading pharmaceutical companies. Prior to CommonHealth, St. Clair managed consumer and patient marketing initiatives for clients such as Bristol Myers Squibb, Procter & Gamble, and Johnson & Johnson.
