Posted on: Tuesday, 22 January 2008, 09:01 CST
MEDecision, Inc. (Nasdaq:MEDE), a provider of collaborative health care management software, services and clinical content to health care payers, today announced its 2008 initiative to deliver simplified, smart and state-of-the-art collaborative health care management solutions.
MEDecision's initiative is centered on the launch of re-architected solutions to take advantage of open, standards-based technology advances, as well as to further strengthen the collaboration between health care payers, physicians and patients. The initiative leverages MEDecision's 20 years of health care management expertise since the company's founding and provides a platform for continued development and rollout of advanced capabilities in line with evolving customer needs.
"Health plans are increasingly recognizing the benefits of collaboration, both within their own organization and externally with other health care entities," said MEDecision Founder and CEO David St.Clair. "At their core, these new solutions are designed to facilitate this collaboration. They take a member-centric approach through which health plans can better engage with patients and physicians in order to improve the quality and affordability of care."
Consisting of Alineo™ and Nexalign™, MEDecision's re-architected Collaborative Health Care Management solutions enable health care payers to manage members and member populations with:
Simplified User Experience: featuring an entirely new user interface with an intuitive screen design, integrated workflow and interoperable information delivery based on Web services.
Smart Clinical Content: featuring Clinical Summaries -- clinically validated, payer-based electronic health records; automated workflow software for case management, disease management, and utilization management and collaborative health information services.
State-of-the-Art Technology: featuring an open and standards-based architecture that provides a highly flexible information and service delivery resource to grow with the needs of health care payers.
Alineo: Simplified and Smart Case, Disease and Utilization Management
Alineo is a collaborative health care management platform for addressing case management, disease management and utilization management. It provides a simplified and smart process for analyzing, applying and automating payer-driven best practices:
Intuitive predictive modeling tools enable payers to identify high-risk members.
Embedded clinical content delivers turnkey clinical knowledge and programs for creating patient care plans while helping to improve clinical consistency.
Health plans also gain the ability to automatically and intelligently administer and evaluate individual member and population-wide care programs, including approvals, referrals and extensions.
"Alineo is a comprehensive, long-term solution that health plans can deploy to improve care quality, safety and affordability while increasing internal operational efficiencies," St.Clair said. "It is a very powerful product with an intrinsic capacity to adapt and transform as organizations' needs change. Alineo truly represents the next generation of care management."
Alineo reached general availability in late December 2007. One major health care plan has already taken delivery of the product.
MEDecision will host a complimentary web conference unveiling Alineo on January 30, 2008. To register for the event, please visit www.MEDecision.com/webinars.asp.
Nexalign: Simplified and Smart Collaborative Health Care Information Exchange
Nexalign is a collaborative health care information exchange service that provides a simplified and smart way for health care payers, patients, physicians and other care providers to securely access and exchange health information and enable better clinical decision making at the point of care.
Centered around Clinical Summaries -- clinically validated, payer-based electronic health records -- Nexalign's multi-channel design enables two-way information exchange between patients, payers and providers which is intended to provide richer, more accurate and complete information.
"Nexalign brings the collaboration to collaborative care management," St.Clair said. "It strengthens the communication between each stakeholder in the health care process so that each can have a consistent and more complete picture of the patient. In essence, Nexalign is a network of clinical data networks from which we can cull all available patient information in order to create more detailed Clinical Summaries."
