Free Children's Dental Day; Expert Source on Children's Dental Health Available

WHAT: February is National Children's Dental Health Month. Dr. Lee Weinstein, a leading Arizona pediatric dentist in Scottsdale and his practice Dental Associates for Kids Only, will be offering a Free Children's Dental Day on Tuesday, February 19, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The first 30 patients that call and schedule appointments will receive free of charge: comprehensive exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments and necessary X-rays. Dr. Weinstein will also do a show and tell, and discuss homecare, nutrition and diet counseling with patients and their parents. Each patient will also receive a free dental health package containing: a toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, homecare and nutritional information, and prizes. HEALTH FACTS: Early childhood tooth decay (caries) is the single most common chronic childhood disease -- 20 times more common than diabetes. Nearly 20 percent of preschoolers, half of second graders, and three-quarters of 15 year olds are adversely affected by tooth decay. There are 2.6 children lacking dental coverage for every child lacking health coverage.
