St. Vincent Health System and MedBasics, one of the leading operators of convenient care clinics in the country, have announced the execution of a formal collaboration agreement that will maximize the delivery of quality and accessible health care in Central Arkansas. MedBasics operates convenient care clinics, open seven days a week, that provide walk-in medical services inside major retail outlets for routine, non-urgent medical conditions and preventive care.
The clinics are located in the following USA Drug locations.
Little Rock, 105 N. Rodney Parham
North Little Rock, 2743 Lakewood Village Drive
Bryant, 3525 Highway 5 North
Specifically, the agreement provides for St. Vincent to identify a corporate medical director and supervising physicians for new MedBasics locations in the Little Rock area. The first three MedBasics clinics in the Little Rock area opened inside USA Drug stores last month.
"We look forward to collaborating with MedBasics based on the company's pioneering work in the convenient care clinic arena. This organization has introduced fast, affordable and accessible health care in a convenient retail setting, which will benefit Central Arkansans," said Alan Winkler, Vice President of Clinic Operations for St. Vincent Health System.
At MedBasics Family Health Centers, a Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant operates with oversight from a physician, evaluating and treating patients for a variety of minor illnesses, such as allergies, bladder infections, bronchitis, ear and sinus infections, fever, and strep throat for a charge of $59. Other health care services, such as school physical exams, immunizations and flu shots also are offered, starting at $15, and no insurance coverage is required.
"Cooperating with a quality-focused, patient-centered organization like St. Vincent allows us to further increase our patient comfort level with the care offered at each MedBasics location. Whether we are serving patients who cannot get an appointment with their family doctor, who want to avoid the emergency room, or who have no other source of health care, we know the St. Vincent name will resonate," said Brian Jones, chairman and CEO of MedBasics.
