Via Christi Regional Medical Center Engages PHNS For Health Information Management Services
Via Christi Regional Medical Center (Via Christi), located in Wichita, Kansas, the largest Catholic not-for-profit medical center in Kansas, has chosen PHNS to provide medical coding and interim management services for the Health Information Management (HIM) department. PHNS is providing Via Christi with experienced, credentialed HIM professionals to perform medical record coding services to ensure accuracy in documentation and applied coding, as well as to oversee the operations of the HIM department coding division and implementation of new technology. PHNS accesses Via Christi's electronic health records through a remote-access virtual private network to exchange patient information in a secure and confidential environment. PHNS' commitment to coding quality and turnaround time will have a positive impact on Via Christi's information flow and revenue cycle.
PHNS' HIM Division currently provides interim staff placement, coding, auditing, education, release of information, records management and transcription services for over 385 healthcare customers. All services are offered on an "as needed" basis or on a full service outsourcing relationship.
