Report: 5,701 Pounds of Marijuana Found

U.S. Border Patrol officials at a checkpoint in Falfurrias, Texas, seized nearly 3 tons of marijuana hidden in a shipment of pineapples.
Agents said the found 132 marijuana bundles with a combined weight of 5,701 pounds, on a tractor-trailer after they were alerted by a drug-sniffing dog, the Corpus Christi (Texas) Caller-Times reported.
The approximate worth of the marijuana is more than $4.5 million, U.S. Customs Officials said.
Police reportedly arrested the 33-year-old driver of the tractor-trailer, who is an El Paso, Texas, resident and U.S. citizen, and turned him over with his vehicle and the drugs to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
