OnePoint Patient Care, an independent specialty pharmacy serving hospice patients, assisted living communities and skilled nursing facilities, announced today its expansion into Oklahoma with the acquisition of Oklahoma City-based Preferred Pharmacy Providers for Hospice & Long-Term Care, Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
With its entrance into the Oklahoma market, OnePoint will build on Preferred Pharmacy Providers' existing network of strong customer relationships in the hospice industry and expand its service throughout the state. Jody Herren, the founder of Preferred Pharmacy Providers, will serve as President of the Oklahoma Division of OnePoint.
"We are thrilled to have Jody and her team of dedicated professionals join the OnePoint family, and we look forward to the ways in which this combination will help our hospice partners better serve their patients," said James A. Otterbeck, Chairman and CEO of OnePoint Patient Care.
OnePoint is the nation's leading hospice pharmacy with local delivery capabilities, filling more than 3,500 prescriptions and providing more than 1,000 in-home deliveries daily. The pharmacy's local operations provide 24-hour accessibility, personal interaction, accurate prescriptions and prompt delivery, allowing hospice patients to get the medications they need quickly, simply and reliably. Building on its dominant position in Arizona, OnePoint also established a presence in Nevada with the acquisition of Priority Care Pharmacy in October 2007.
"We were pleased to find that -- like OnePoint Patient Care -- Preferred Pharmacy Providers is devoted to superior service and shares our 'patient first' philosophy," said Jeffrey Hohl, President and COO of OnePoint Patient Care. "Together, we are able to provide clinical expertise, a captive and friendly delivery organization and customized pharmacy solutions that meet the unique needs of the hospices we serve. We look forward to expanding our service to other hospices throughout Oklahoma."
"OnePoint is one of the leading independent hospice pharmacies in the country and has a well-deserved reputation for excellence," said Herren. "We are excited to bring its resources and expertise to our existing hospice clients and their patients and to expand our services to other areas of the state."
