CDW and Imprivata Partner for Identity and Access Management Solutions

Imprivata, a converged identity and access management appliance company, and CDW Healthcare, a provider of technology products and services to healthcare organizations, have partnered to bring Imprivata’s Single Sign-on, Authentication Management and Physical/Logical Security Convergence solutions to the healthcare market.

In addition to the recent announcement of joint customer United Regional Healthcare, Imprivata’s OneSign Single Sign-On (SSO) solution has also been deployed by Lake Forest Hospital. Based in suburban Chicago, Lake Forest Hospital has been committed to providing quality healthcare with a personal touch since 1899. The 215-bed hospital provides a comprehensive range of leading-edge medical services with more than 1,600 professional staff members and nearly 600 physicians.

Working closely with CDW Healthcare, Lake Forest’s IT Department selected the OneSign solution after learning the benefits of SSO. The hospital then worked with their account management team to orchestrate the design, delivery and implementation of the technology. The flexible, appliance-based single sign-on solution from Imprivata helps Lake Forest Hospital minimize costly password resets, improve helpdesk productivity and provide physicians and staff simple and secure access to the applications they need each day to deliver the highest levels of quality care.

In addition to the password efficiencies and increased staff productivity enabled by OneSign, Lake Forest utilizes the built-in monitoring capabilities to track which users access which applications and when. This enables Lake Forest to generate detailed access logs and reports that provide the audit trails necessary to comply with patient data safety mandates like those required by HIPAA.
