LONDON, Ont. - Seven girls in London, Ont., have been charged with assault following attacks on a 19-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy.
Police say the woman was swarmed and repeatedly punched by a group of girls aged 12-16 as she walked on a street the night of Feb. 2.
Earlier that day, say police, a 15-year-old male friend of the woman was also swarmed and he suffered a stab wound in the back during the assault.
Neither victim suffered life-threatening injuries.
Police have not yet indicated a possible motive for the alleged assaults and say further charges are pending.
Due to the ages of the accused, no names will be released.
