Continuing with their commitment in setting technology standards for emergency department automation, Emergisoft Corporation announces its plan to implement EmergisoftED™ in Chester River Hospital Center's Emergency Department. The implementation will assist clinicians and administrators at Chester River Hospital Center to expedite patient throughput processes, increase reimbursement and positively impact the quality of patient care.
With over 60% of the hospital's inpatients coming from the emergency department, Chester River Hospital realizes the need for an emergency department information system that is fully integrateable to their hospital, billing and other clinical information systems. The acute care hospital, located in Chestertown, Maryland, offers extensive medical and surgical services.
"We chose EmergisoftED because its technology is flexible and easy to work with," said Allison Trumpy, Director, Information Technology, Chester River Hospital Center. "The clinicians wanted a system that would meet everyone's needs and they are excited about the electronic form based input tool in addition to the full CPOE and Emergisoft's ability to interface a complete chart with our hospital information system."
Chester River Hospital Center's emergency department will be transitioning from a paper-based system to electronic medical records and benefit from a wide range of automated and electronic functions to include; patient tracking and alerts, clinical documentation, CPOE, electronic charting forms, order and results management, discharge planning and ad-hoc Cognos® management reporting.
Emergisoft Corporation's CEO, Joseph J. DeSilva added, "Chester River Hospital Center is another great example of how Clinicians, Information Technology personnel, Senior Executives and Emergisoft can combine vision and mission with advanced healthcare information technologies to help make the emergency department as pleasant an experience as possible for patients, and as operationally and financially efficient for the hospital. We look forward to helping Chester River Hospital Center achieve its clinical and administrative goals by providing them with a system that was designed exclusively for the high demand, fast-paced emergency department environment."
Emergisoft's agreement to integrate EmergisoftED into Chester River Hospital Center's Quadramed-based Hospital Information System (HIS) underscores their belief that of all the options on the market today, EmergisoftED integrates the best across all HIS platforms including McKesson, Siemens, Eclipsys, and MEDITECH. Emergisoft is delivering a complete information tool designed for the specific needs of Emergency Department Clinicians and Management who are on the front line of healthcare delivery.
