STAMFORD, Conn., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Thomson Healthcare (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) today announced the latest update to its Order Sets Solution, which now includes:

"We selected the Order Sets Solution from Thomson Healthcare because of the combination of unparalleled editorial quality, the flexibility of its design architecture, and the strength of its clinical consulting services," said Dennis DeMasie, chief information officer at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois. "The new solution builds on our continued commitment to deliver the highest quality, clinically consistent care to our patients."
The enhanced Order Sets Solution gives hospitals access to 888 titles for 220 medical conditions. They can acquire the entire library, or bundles that include Starter Packs of the most common conditions, a Performance Measures Pack that focuses on the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) core measure conditions, and tailored packs for emergency and pediatric departments.

"Hospitals are choosing Order Sets from Thomson Healthcare because of the strength of our editorial process and the flexibility of our solutions. This combination ensures ongoing success in terms of local control over clinical policy, flexibility in system integration, ease of managing a large content set, and strong clinical consulting and implementation support."
The Order Sets Solution combines four critical elements for implementation, adoption and ongoing maintenance: market-leading evidence- based content; a powerful knowledge management tool for creating, editing, and updating order set content; a flexible design architecture that delivers maximum flexibility when integrating with CPOE systems; and clinical consulting services to support the hospitals' user adoption, governance, and implementation processes.
