CytRx to Participate in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease Panel at BIO CEO Conference

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jack Barber Ph.D., Senior Vice President, Drug Development of CytRx Corporation , will participate in an Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease panel at the BIO CEO & Investor Conference being held February 23-24, 2005 in New York, NY at the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel. The panel discussion will be held at 9:30am EST on Wednesday, February 23 in the Basildon Room.

According to BIO CEO, the panel, entitled "Biotech's Solutions to Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease," will provide "a clinical perspective on the problem and opportunities that are being explored towards finding a cure for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's." Dr. Barber will discuss CytRx's small molecule drug, arimoclomol, which may provide cellular protection from abnormal proteins by activating molecular "chaperone" proteins that can repair or degrade damaged proteins that are believed to cause many diseases, including ALS.
