People in South East Cornwall can have their say on local NHS services at a health fair organised by Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Primary Care Trust (PCT). On Tuesday, people can talk to PCT staff and get free blood pressure tests, advice on maintaining a healthy weight and quitting smoking. On Wednesday, patient and community representatives can take part in one-to-one meetings between board members by prior appointment. The Health Fair takes place on Tuesday at the Masonic Hall on Tower Hill, East Looe from 10am to 4pm. The one-to-one meetings take place by prior appointment at the Masonic Hall on Tuesday afternoon. BROADCASTER Sue MacCregor will lead a panel of prize judges on a fact-finding mission to a Devon museum. MacCregor, who presented Radio Four’s Today programme for 18 years, will be at Topsham museum, near Exeter, on Monday afternoon. She is one of the judges for the pounds100,000 Art Fund Prize.
A SPONSORED walk for Marie Curie Cancer Care will take place in Devon. The walk on Sunday, April 27 will start and finish at the Tiverton Day Hospice and walkers will enjoy a four-mile walk along the Grand Western Canal through countryside. A SILENT auction of a pearl necklace will raise money for the River View day care and respite centre in Mount Gould, Plymouth. Plymouth Age Concern is inviting bids on the 14in single-strand necklace, donated by Michael Spiers Jewellers. A CHARITY which supports people with brain injuries is holding an open day. Headway Devon run rehabilitative support centres for adults and one for children. The event, between 11am and 12.30pm on Saturday, March 29 will be a chance to see what kind of activities Headway provides at the Knight Club on Beacon Lane in Exeter.
A SPECIAL day of activities will be held at Taunton Museum on Easter Monday. The extravaganza will include musket firing, craft activities, and tours. The museum opens from 10am until 5pm, and entry is free. Activities and tours run from 11am until 4pm.
