AUSTIN, Texas, March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Opus Healthcare Solutions will install its OpusClinicalSuite(R) information system into the Lynn County Hospital District on an ASP (Application Service Provider) basis. This will enable the rural hospital district to obtain the latest clinical information system without a major upfront cost in new hardware and support staff.

The OpusClinicalSuite(R) provides a single point-of-access for clinicians to retrieve all patient clinical information (patient vitals, lab results, medications, imaging results), from the bedside or remote locations such as their office or distant clinics. The suite enables hospitals to meet patient safety issues and implement quality measures for improved patient outcomes.
The Lynn County Hospital District, which includes a critical access hospital (CAH), serves three rural counties near Lubbock, Texas.
Jim Morris, the Chief Executive Officer of the district, said, "We had been seeking to upgrade our clinical information system for a long time, but were concerned about the purchase and maintenance of a lot of expensive new hardware. Obtaining the OpusClinicalSuite(R) on an ASP basis is the best of both worlds. We get access to one of the most advanced clinical information systems available on a subscription basis and Opus will house and maintain it."
According to Morris, a portion of the cost of the system is expected to be reimbursed on the hospital's annual Medicare cost report which should help make this project even more affordable to the hospital district.
Fred Beck, President of Opus Healthcare Solutions, said, "Many rural hospitals find it difficult to attract and retain skilled IT professionals. When we provide our software on an ASP basis, we assume responsibility for installing and updating it, easing the work load on existing staff."
