Eclipsys Corporation®, (NASDAQ:ECLP), The Outcomes Company®, today announced that Great Plains Regional Medical Center, North Platte, NE, has selected Eclipsys Sunrise Clinical Essentials™ to help drive improved care quality outcomes and increase operational efficiency. Sunrise Clinical Essentials is Eclipsys cost-effective clinical information solution consisting of pre-bundled software and a prescriptive delivery approach that delivers faster time-to-value, while providing the foundation for more advanced applications.
Sunrise Clinical Essentials will help connect Great Plains Regional Medical Center's care providers with a shared electronic medical record (EMR), enabling physicians, pharmacists and nurses to make informed, timely decisions and deliver safe, integrated care throughout the course of the patient's treatment. Great Plains Regional Medical Center will also implement Sunrise Clinical Essentials to help the organization have a safer medication management process. By automating the medication management workflows of its physicians, pharmacists and nurses, Great Plains Regional Medical Center will help reduce miscommunications, delays and avoidable medication errors.
"Great Plains Regional Medical Center is committed to staying on the cutting edge of healthcare information technology," said James Anderson, chief information officer, Great Plains Regional Medical Center. "After reviewing a number of options available in the market today, it was clear to us that Sunrise Clinical Essentials was the best platform to help us easily measure and drive quality performance and outcome improvements in the shortest time frame. With Sunrise Clinical Essentials, we also have a great base to build from as we add more advanced Eclipsys enterprise solutions."
Once Sunrise Clinical Essentials is deployed, Great Plains Regional Medical Center will then activate additional Eclipsys Sunrise Enterprise solutions, including advanced clinical documentation, order sets, Sunrise Knowledge-Based Charting™, Sunrise Critical Care™, Sunrise Knowledge-Based Medication Administration™, and Sunrise Clinical Analytics™.
"We're excited that Great Plains Regional Medical Center recognized the industry leading value of Sunrise Clinical Essentials to achieve a faster time to outcomes, and also has plans to deploy additional Eclipsys solutions to automate more workflows across its enterprise," said Jay Deady, Eclipsys executive vice president of Client Solutions at Eclipsys. "We look forward to working with the experienced team at Great Plains Regional Medical Center to implement a solution that helps the organization achieve its care quality improvement goals."
Great Plains Regional Medical Center will implement Sunrise Critical Care to extend the patient's electronic record to its high-acuity intensive care units. Sunrise Critical Care also includes alerts, reminders and warnings, which will help Great Plains Regional Medical Center perform key interventions within the six- to eight-hour "window of opportunity" when it's most critical to improving outcomes
Sunrise Clinical Analytics will enable Great Plains Regional Medical Center to easily extract data from Sunrise Clinical Manager to understand trends in how patient care is delivered. The solution enables real-time analysis, and if necessary, intervention for compliance and better management of pay-for-performance and quality reporting.
The Eclipsys solutions will be remotely hosted by the ISO 9001:2000-certified Eclipsys Technology Solutions Center in Mountain Lakes, NJ.
Added Anderson, "We were also very impressed with Eclipsys remote hosting capabilities, as the service will enable us to focus on providing the best possible patient care."
