Bio-Matrix Scientific Group, Inc. Announces It Will Open Two DNA-Genetic Testing Labs
Posted on: Tuesday, 1 April 2008, 09:01 CDT
Bio-Matrix Scientific Group Inc (OTCBB: BMSN), a biotechnology company focused on adult stem cell processing and cryogenic storage, announced today it will open two DNA-Genetic Testing laboratories for the molecular-level detection of genes linked to specific human diseases.
With approximately 2,000 disease associated genes identified, and over 4,000 diseases caused by genetic defects, genetic testing used to assess the risk of developing certain diseases will become an increasingly important part of medical practice.
Dr. Geoffrey O'Neill, the Company's Chief Scientific Advisor, noted "Development of DNA testing capability complements our stem cell preservation programs. Possible disease associations at the DNA level for diseases such as diabetes or Alzheimer's would certainly be a strong incentive for our clients to store their stem cells for future regenerative medical procedures."
Bio-Matrix currently has two Class 100,000 DNA laboratories that will be utilized to reduce the risks of contamination during DNA amplification and testing. These laboratories, combined with our current cGMP/cGTP requirements as an FDA registered Facility for stem cell operations, will assure clients of the highest standards in all technologies used.
