Girl Scout Cookies on Way to Iraq

April 2, 2008

Thanks to a group of Willow Street Brownie Girl Scouts, boxes upon boxes of Girl Scout cookies are on their way to Iraq and “some patients who really love them.”

The girls from Hans Herr Brownie Troop 134 each donated a box of cookies and also raised funds through family and friends to donate even more to Americans in a military hospital in Iraq.

In all, the girls are donating 94 boxes of cookies, which will be given out to patients, according to a troop spokesman.

The troop’s leaders are Judy Davis and Linda Popielarski, and its senior scout leader is Loren Deron.

“Cookie moms” for the collection effort were Karen Di Pace and Terry Buddendorf.
